Golfest Trip Thru Ohio - Golfers Wanted

Game on! In keeping with the perpetual Golfest quest to play the Top 100 Public Golf Courses in the United States, another FLY-BY has been scheduled. This one is scheduled for Ohio (with an ultra-convenient side-bar stop in Pennsylvania) on August 26-30th. It's actually pretty simple ... Fly into Cleveland and fly out of Columbus and sandwiched in between is four Top 100 ranked courses - according to Golf Digest. Accepting the challenge are Golfestians Jim Dee from Indiana, and Californian's Mike Rittner, Mike Barbone, and Jim Allen.
Kicking off the festivities will be a 36-hole day at the 29th ranked Stonewater Golf Club in Highland Heights and number 40 Avalon Lakes Golf Course in Warren. Both are within 70-miles of the Cleveland Airport. That will be backed up with a short trip into PA for 18 at the 55th ranked famous Olde Stonewall Golf Course. The road show will finish up at the 2009 top-rated pblic course in Ohio, which would be Longaberger Golf Course (see photo) in Nashport (near Columbus).
If my calculator is working properly, that works out to 72-holes of killer golf in one 53-hour span, including sleep, food and about 300 miles of total travel. Some would consider that a little "over-the-top" ... and you know what ... we agree, but that is what we do! As usual, expect a ton of
